From October 6 to 8, 2026, Paolo Gorla and the Etipack team will be exhibiting at CPHI Milan at booth 9F78, together with Retinae, to showcase an integrated solution designed for pharmaceutical packaging. The configuration combines labeling technologies, variable data printing, and vision systems for data verification and print quality control.
The live demonstration presented during the exhibition combines Etipack labeling systems with Retinae’s vision technology, developed to verify codes, variable data, and print quality before labels are applied to the product packaging. The solution also incorporates thermal transfer printing technologies from Eidos, a company that belongs to Possehl Identification Solutions alongside Etipack.
The objective is to demonstrate how complementary technologies can operate seamlessly within a single production process, helping manufacturers reduce the risk of applying non-compliant labels while improving overall system reliability.
The collaboration between Etipack and Retinae was established with the goal of combining specialized expertise in industrial labeling, machine vision, serialization, and data management. The two companies began exploring potential synergies in 2025, identifying significant opportunities to develop solutions tailored to pharmaceutical manufacturers, machine builders, and system integrators.
In an industry characterized by stringent regulatory requirements and increasing demands for product traceability, the integration of mechanics, printing, and inspection technologies is becoming a key strategic factor.
The growing adoption of Data Matrix codes and serialization systems is reshaping the requirements of pharmaceutical production lines. In this context, the ability to combine labeling, variable data printing, data verification, and digital information management is essential for ensuring compliance, product safety, and operational flexibility.
The solution presented at CPHI demonstrates how proven labeling technologies can be integrated with advanced vision and inspection systems, helping manufacturers adapt their production lines to emerging market demands.
One of Etipack’s key strengths is its ability to develop modular systems that can be rapidly customized, building on proven technologies and adapting them to the specific production requirements of each customer. This approach enables the company to combine reliability, design flexibility, and optimized implementation times.
As part of Possehl Identification Solutions, Etipack also benefits from complementary expertise and technological partnerships that further expand the opportunities for developing advanced solutions for the pharmaceutical industry.
At booth 9F78, visitors will have the opportunity to see firsthand how labeling, printing, and vision systems can work together to increase process reliability and support the pharmaceutical industry’s serialization and quality control requirements.
